What to bring
- Sunscreen
- Off! Deep Woods Bug/Tick spray
- Wide brim hat
- 2 Nalgene (or similar) Water Bottles, something you can carry on survey holding at least 2 liters of water
- Toiletries (Shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, etc.)
- Towels for recreation/beach
- Flashlight
- Long Pants/Jeans
- Lightweight long sleeve shirts
- Bandanas
- Thick socks
- Work/Hiking boots (with ankle support, we will walk through cactus patches)
- Jacket
- Personal entertainment (books, frisbees, music, sketchpad, camera, spending money, games, etc.)
- Backpack
- Sunglasses
- Extra batteries
- Other clothes for after hours (e.g. swimsuit, etc.)
- There is only one store at Two Harbors, with expensive prices.
- Your laundry can be done at the coin-operated laundry facility at the Wrigley Marine Center. However, this is your own responsibility.
- Verizon Wireless owns the majority of cell towers on the island and has the best coverage. Other carriers do work though. AT&T is the second best.
- Download your readings and purchase your book before coming to the island. We do not have a photocopy machine or printer for you to use.
- Hiking is an option during your free days as well as lots of outdoor recreation activities like, kayaking, camping, but please make sure that one of the staff or another student is always aware of where you are going and when you expect to return. There may be fees or permits involved. Look online for more details.
